Someone asked how the name Pearlee was chosen. Our founder, Rev. Aubrey Hudson’s mother’s name was Pearlee. It is in memory of her.

We had a great meeting on Wednesday. It was very nice to see Superintendent Davis and Board Member Kevin Moore at the meeting there. I appreciated their appearance.

We are still in the waiting process. Our next meeting is Tuesday, March 23 with District 61 at the Keil Building, 6:30 PM. This will be our vote. We could use your support.

We have had several comments the past few days. Please read them. I hope I have answered all the questions. Please keep them coming though. I am sure there are things I haven’t touched. Please just ask. This is your school.

We know that Pearlee is NEEDED. This is for our children.

There will be an informational meeting on the Pearlee Charter School on March 17 from 7:00 PM-8:30 PM at the Decatur Public Library–Madden Auditorium.

Our Public Meeting is now scheduled for Feb. 23. The Feb. 9 meeting was canceled due to the weather.

Meeting with the Superintendent of District 61 is over. We talked about things and answered questions.

The Open Public Meeting is scheduled for Feb. 9 at 6:30 at the Board of Education Building. We would love to have you join us.

January 16 update

Things are really moving. The proposal has been received by District 61 and the Illinois State Board of Education. Our first meeting with District 61 is Jan. 27. A public hearing will be scheduled soon. I’ll post that date the minute I find out. Keep checking back!

The Pearlee Public Charter School is a new high school coming to Decatur, IL. We are very excited to offer this opportunity.

Things are just getting rolling, but we hope to start registration in the spring on 2010 for the 2010-2011 school year.
